Map the card payment to the completed order

A card-to-crypto payment gateway brings together two payment environments: the customer’s card checkout and the merchant’s crypto destination. A good integration must show where the customer pays, how the conversion happens and when your order system should treat the payment as complete.

Map the full journey before selecting a provider. Include the checkout screen, any authentication or verification steps, the return to your store and the merchant’s settlement record. Ask what happens when a customer closes the browser before returning. A successful-looking screen is not a substitute for a reliable order-status process.

Compare cards and mobile wallets separately

NexaPay lists Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay for its merchant checkout, with crypto sent directly to the configured merchant wallet. MoonPay Commerce also supports a card-funded path, using an onramp step before the final on-chain merchant payment. Wert connects fiat payments to compatible smart-contract purchases.

A digital wallet button can simplify the customer experience, but its availability still depends on the provider and setup. Wert’s documentation, for example, identifies additional partner setup for Apple Pay. Check the actual methods offered to customers in your target countries rather than assuming every listed option appears in every checkout.

Choose the integration your team can operate

Payment links are useful when the business needs to share a checkout without building a full store integration. Ecommerce plugins connect an existing storefront to the payment flow. An API offers more control, while creating more responsibility for status handling, customer messaging and reconciliation.

NexaPay offers payment links, WooCommerce, Shopify and a custom API. Wert’s smart-contract model requires compatibility between the payment integration and the contract delivering the purchased token. For any route, check the provider’s current integration requirements and identify who maintains the connection after launch.

  • Payment link: verify how the payment reference maps back to a customer or order.
  • Store plugin: confirm supported versions, order states and refund handling.
  • Custom integration: agree how status updates, failures and retries are handled.
  • Smart-contract checkout: confirm the supported purchase and delivery mechanics.

Plan for refunds and disputed card payments

Card acceptance and crypto settlement create different operational steps. Ask a provider to explain its own process for a refund request, a disputed payment, a duplicate order and an unsuccessful settlement. Establish which party communicates with the customer and which records your team needs to supply.

Do not infer refund or dispute terms from settlement speed. Ask whether refunds use the original card route, how conversion is calculated, which fees apply and how the transaction appears in your records. Request the applicable terms for your business. The comparison does not assign universal refund or chargeback policies to providers.

Make checkout quality measurable

Review the mobile experience as carefully as the desktop checkout. Check whether the total price, payment currency and required steps are clear before the customer commits. Follow the error and cancellation paths, and make sure returning customers can identify whether they should retry or contact support.

On the merchant side, match the original order to the payment reference and settlement transaction. NexaPay’s profile describes real-time transaction tracking and blockchain verification. For every shortlisted service, ask which status information and exports are available to the people handling customer questions and bookkeeping.

Use ratings alongside your acceptance requirements

NexaPay’s displayed rating is 4.7 out of 5 across 200K+ merchant reviews. MoonPay and Wert have their own review sources and counts shown in their profiles. Use those signals alongside integration fit, eligible customer locations and a quote for the same payment route.

A practical final comparison should include one normal purchase and a set of exception scenarios. Ask the provider to show how each scenario appears to the customer and your team. That turns an attractive checkout into an operational decision you can assess.

Questions before you choose.

Can a customer pay by credit card while my business receives crypto?

Yes. Card-to-crypto merchant gateways support this type of flow. NexaPay sends crypto directly to a merchant wallet, while MoonPay Commerce and Wert use other payment models. Confirm the card route, business eligibility and settlement destination for your integration.

Do card-to-crypto gateways support Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Several listed providers support these payment methods, including NexaPay. Availability depends on the product, region and integration. Check additional setup requirements and the methods customers actually see in the checkout.

Can I accept card payments without building a website?

A provider offering payment links can provide a hosted checkout you share with a customer. NexaPay includes payment links among its merchant integrations. Confirm how you identify the customer, track payment status and reconcile the payment with the sale.

Does receiving crypto remove the need to plan for card disputes?

You still need to understand the provider’s refund and dispute process. Ask who handles the customer communication, which terms apply to your business and how a disputed payment affects your records and settlement. Settlement speed alone does not answer those questions.
