An offramp runs from crypto to fiat

A crypto offramp lets a customer sell cryptocurrency and receive traditional money through an eligible payout method. It reverses the broad direction of an onramp, but the available assets, countries and payment rails do not necessarily mirror the provider’s buy-crypto product.

Keep four details together when comparing: the crypto asset you are selling, its blockchain network, the fiat currency you want and the destination that will receive the payout. A supported asset without a suitable payout route is not a complete solution. Start with the sell flow offered for your location.

Compare providers with an identified sell product

The offramp category includes MoonPay, Transak, Banxa, Ramp Network, Mercuryo and Alchemy Pay. Their profiles show customer ratings and product sources alongside regional and integration considerations. NexaPay and Wert are listed in other categories rather than being included in this sell-crypto shortlist.

MoonPay provides a sell-crypto flow, while Transak describes bank and card payouts subject to eligibility. Banxa distinguishes buy and sell methods and requires integrations to enable offramp separately. Do not carry a payment method from a provider’s purchase screen into your assumptions about its payouts.

Mercuryo’s widget documentation says offramp is disabled by default for integrations and lists card payouts in EUR and USD. Ramp Network and Alchemy Pay also offer buying and selling products with route-specific availability. Check the current sell options for the exact product you intend to use.

Check the payout destination before sending crypto

Confirm the eligible receiving account or card, payout currency and any onboarding requirements before starting the transfer. Ask how the recipient details are checked and what happens if a destination is unsupported. A bank-transfer purchase option is not proof that the same provider supports a bank payout in your country.

Follow the provider’s instructions for the asset, network, amount and destination used in the sell order. Compare those details with the sending wallet before proceeding. Save the order reference and transaction record so you can connect the crypto transfer to the subsequent fiat payout.

  • Crypto input: supported asset, blockchain network and order amount.
  • Fiat output: payout currency, destination type and recipient eligibility.
  • Timing: transfer requirements, processing stages and expected payout window.
  • Support: order reference, transfer record and the contact for payout issues.

Compare the fiat you will actually receive

Use the same crypto amount, network, payout currency and destination type when comparing quotes. Record the estimated fiat proceeds and the charges included in that figure. Also check the sending wallet’s network cost and any receiving-bank charges that sit outside the provider’s quote.

Understand when the exchange rate is set and whether the quote has an expiry or transfer deadline. Refresh comparable quotes close together because market prices can move. Do not compare a card payout for one provider with a bank payout for another without accounting for their different fees and availability.

Separate transfer progress from payout progress

The crypto transfer and the fiat payout are separate stages of the customer journey. Ask what each order status means and which status confirms the money has been sent to the receiving destination. The record of a crypto transfer alone does not describe every remaining step in the sell process.

Before choosing a route, find the provider’s explanation of an incomplete transfer, a delayed payout and an unsuccessful payout. Ask who handles support and which records are needed. For a product integration, define the customer-facing messages for these situations so users know where to check progress.

Read ratings in the context of selling

The comparison displays each provider’s review source, score and review count. Many sources cover the company as a whole, so a high volume of buy-crypto reviews may not describe the payout route you need. Look for relevant accounts of selling, receiving fiat and resolving payout questions.

Use ratings to explore eligible providers, then compare the actual sell quote and payout conditions. For integration decisions, also confirm that the offramp product is enabled and supported for your audience. A provider offering both directions is useful only when the specific direction you need is available.

Questions before you choose.

What is a crypto offramp?

A crypto offramp is a service for selling cryptocurrency and receiving fiat through a supported payout route. The available asset, network, country, currency and receiving destination all form part of that route.

Do all fiat onramps also support selling crypto?

No. Buying and selling are separate capabilities. This comparison includes a provider in the offramp category only where a sell product is identified. Even when both directions exist, their country coverage, assets and payment methods can differ.

Can an offramp pay out to a card?

Some providers offer eligible card payout routes. Transak describes card and bank payouts subject to eligibility, and Mercuryo’s widget documentation lists card payouts in EUR and USD. Confirm availability for your country, card, currency and integration.

What should I compare before selling crypto?

Compare the supported asset and network, receiving destination, payout currency, final fiat amount, expected timing and support process. Keep the input amount and payout route consistent when requesting quotes from different providers.
